Ferretti’s Nod to Southern Italy
Alberta Ferretti has in the past has created some of the most wonderfully draped gowns which tend to the dreamier side of fashion. This collection feels more solid in that there are separates, collars, and charming decorated linens.
Yet she barely received any attention in the blog world past or present. Perhaps, it’s a symptom of creating nostalgia, or what some may seem as a superficial charm?! However her 2014 Spring RTW collection is ethnic and technical to the core.
Designers are constantly looking to peasant life, world cultures, and history for inspiration, and it never gets old. Looking towards the southern Italy this time, this Italian designer worked with breezy whites, bursts of colorful ribbons, and smocked mousseline, embroidered flower design and ballerina flats, to dress our charming country girl.
